First, if you’re looking for a stripped down model at a rock bottom price, no need to read further. However, if you are looking for a fully loaded, multi-functional sports sedan at a reasonable price, please read on.
For sale is my 2006 Mazda 6s Grand Sport Hatchback. This car has every option except navigation, including:
- V6 with 205 hp (smooth power even with the air on – no 4-cyl can say that)
- 6-Speed automatic trans w/ sport shift (normally only found on high end cars)
- 18” wheels (look pretty darn nice don’t they!)
- Leather seats (very comfy and includes full power seat for the driver and heated seats for both driver/passenger)
- Bose 6-CD stereo system (sounds sweet)
- 4-wheel disc brakes with ABS (rotors recently turned, so good for a long time)
- All the other basics: Front and side airbags, Sunroof, Cruise, Tilt/Tele steering, Power windows/locks, Radio controls on steering wheel, Auto climate control, etc, etc
As you can see from the pictures, it is immaculate – not even a door ding (knock on wood). It has 26k miles, and the nice thing is that 2006 was the last year that Mazda offered a 4-year bumper-to-bumper warranty (starting in 2007 it is only 3 years), so it still has over two years of full warranty (through November 2009).
Now for anyone who thinks a hatchback isn’t for them, let me tell you I think you are wrong. As you can see, Mazda did a great job of integrating the hatchback so that it looks great just like a sedan. But anytime you need extra room, it is sure nice to open the lift and drop the back seats. On different occasions I have hauled my mountain bike, a big screen TV and numerous Home Depot supplies with room to spare.
Finally, I will mention that of course by buying from a private buyer, you don’t have to pay GA sales tax.
So there you have it. A fully loaded, basically brand new car that is both practical and fun to drive – there is a reason that Edmunds put this on their most wanted list!
This car retailed for $28k when it was new and similar 2006 models (although I doubt if in this good of condition) can be found at dealer lots for between $20k-$22k. Edmunds and KBB both show the private seller price between $18k-$19k, but I am asking only $17,950.
